Its been a really rough couple of years for those of us
at Shooting Star-
Marna Jean has lost her three remaining grandparents-
in what seems an all too short time
Including her grandfather whom we lived with.
He was taken from us in October by cancer thanks to hospice
and God's Grace, we were able to keep him home with us until the end.
And thanks to the kindness of friends we were able to take him to the cemetary
in a manner appropriate to a fine old gentleman who loved and supported our love of history.
We miss you Grandpa!
This is Granny who passed away in Jan. of 2006
Her husband had passed away only 10 months before.
Here she is demonstrating making lye soap
for a group of children at our farm.
She was so shy, she was terribly nervous but once the
kids got there- she was all smiles, because she was always for the kids!
So what's become of us?
Well, after several computer crashes
we are now trying to play "catch up"
we have this past December 2006 finally able to get on DSL
Which is allowing us to upgrade the website and update everything.
