Corsets

I saw an original corset in these colors in a Victorian Magazine and fell in love with it- I would later run across the same type of corset described in Norah Waugh's Corset and Crinoline. I absolutely fell in love! It is a 1880's-90's style and short enough to be very flexible still. I put spiral steel boning in it to assist in this matter. The silk is interlined with a firm cotton and lined with a black cotton twill for durability. It also features a twill tape reinforcement at the waistline and hand worked eyelets. |
Me and Belle, showing how comfortable this corset is.

This is a lightweight corset in a larger size done in brocade with an inner lining of a light weight cotton twill. The front stays are regular spring steel corset boning while the side stays are spiral steel, to give both support and flexibility. |
